Elephants are the largest animals on land. They can weigh as much as a 5000 to 14000 pounds.
- They live in sub-Saharan Africa and the rain forests of Central and West Africa
- They eat grasses, roots, fruit, and bark
- They also live in Nepal, India, and Southeast Asia
- They live 30 to 50 years
- The baby is called a calf
- The mother is called a cow and the father is called a bull
- The baby will weigh 200 pounds when it is born
- a group of elephants is called a herd
